Does anyone know how lawyers were officially admitted to the Virginia bar in
the late 1800s? More specifically, what primary source would document those
admissions? I would love to find a chronological list of admissions in the
1870s and 1880s.
I have tried both the Virginia State Bar (vsb.org), which wasn't established
until 1938, and the Library of Virginia, but neither place seems to have
these records.
Many thanks,
