Dear Eve Gregory:
I am the one who originally [a couple of weeks ago] asked the
question about surveys by compass. I received several
answers, all of them enlightening, but none so helpful as the
one you have just put on the Va-Hist list.
I am trying to establish the boundaries of several tracts around
Cornelius Creek and Almond Creek in Henrico Co. Don
Bannister sent some finished plats that helped a great deal,
but I didn't really understand the exact method--my fault, not
his! With the material you sent, I think I can actually work out
some on my own.
Since you are with the VFAR, and I know you have worked at
Jordan's Point (having read the book about it), could you tell
me if a survey has been made of Samuel Jordan's land that
would make it possible for me to place it on a current USGS
map? I am interested in placing William Bailey's land and I
think it was adjacent.
Thanks so much for your help,
Netti Schreiner-Yantis
