Register now for the annual VCU syposium this year entitled "Classics on
Classicism." The ninth annual symposium is sponsored by the VCU Dept. of
Art History, Virginia Historical Society, Center for Palladian Studies in
America, Maymont Foundation, Valentine Museum/Richmond History Center,
APVA, and Library of Virginia. It will be on Friday, Sept. 28 from 9 am to
3:30 pm at the Virginia Historical Society (428 North Boulevard, Richmond,
VA 804-358-4901). Papers will be presented by experts on Virginia
architectural history. This will be a rich source of information, with
breaks for networking and lunch. Admission is $10, members of a sponsoring
organization pay $8, students get in free, and there is a reception
afterwards for which there is a $5 charge. For registration form contact
Dr. Charles Brownell, Professor of Art History, (804) 828- 2784, OR, e-mail
me (with your address!) for a copy. Alyson L. Taylor-White
