Members of the list will be interested in a handsomely produced and exhaustively researched and documented new book by Rosemary Thornton, a history of Penniman, Virginia, its rapid rise as a DuPont company town to make munitions for WWI, and then its similarly rapid demise. Its ghostly remains are few and far between at Cheatham Annex, seven miles from Williamsburg, at the end of Penniman Road….
