The Menokin Foundation, whose mission is to preserve and interpret Menokin,
a National Historic Landmark, seeks an experienced professional to serve as
executive director of Menokin. Menokin was the home of Francis Lightfoot
Lee, a Patriot and signer of the Declaration of Independence, and his wife
Rebecca Tayloe. The Menokin Foundation's mission is to preserve and
interpret Menokin for the benefit of the American people and for the
academic study of architecture, archaeology, history, ecology and other
areas of the humanities. The 500 acre property is four miles from the town
of Warsaw in Virginia's historic Northern Neck. The ruin of the 1769
Menokin manor house and the Foundation offices and visitor's center are
located on the property.
The executive director is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the
Board of Trustees of the Menokin Foundation. The executive director is
charged with the operational and financial management of the organization,
including the physical site and the collections, and is responsible for the
development and management of budgets, programs, projects and activities,
