Lynn Rainville, an anthropologist on faculty at Sweetbriar with
privileges at U. Va. (I think this is her arrangement), recently
completed a survey of a slave graveyard in Albemarle County, working
through us with a grant from the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities.
She gave the Society a wonderful slideshow presentation of her
findings, and is in the process of writing them up for possible
publication in the annual Magazine of Albemarle County History.
Lynn has become quite active in and knowledgable about issues
surrounding slave graveyards. You might try contacting her for some advice.
